Remember this maternity session from last year? Jacob is the bump inside his mommy’s belly at the time. I’m still amazed at the transformation. I’ll be photographing Jacob’s first year and it will be fun to look back at these images when he turns 1.

Introducing baby Jacob . . .

New Years is one of my favorite holidays. I love celebrating new beginnings with fresh mind set. And mom always cooks my favorite rice cake soup (tthuk-gook), a tradition many Korean families keep. (Check out my friend Lisa’s Korean rice cake & dumpling soup recipe. Her food pictures made me so hungry!) Along with rice cake soup, many Koreans dress in traditional “hanboks“.

Hanboks are also worn during Korean first birthday celebrations. I recently had a chance to photograph twins, Julia & Sophia, dohl party at their home. Their parents chose to celebrate the twins birthday only with family who flew in from Korean & California. Everyone dressed up in their hanboks and looked amazing! It was the smallest guest list I’ve seen but I really enjoyed the traditional experience. Thank you for inviting me to your lovely home and letting me be part of your special day!
